BookSmart Consulting works with schools and school districts to create a coherent literacy plan that directly supports students to achieve their highest reading potential.
In collaboration with schools and staff, BSC will create a pathway to guide schools towards aligning their current resources in the most effective way. In addition, we will provide suggestions and possible implementation of instructional strategies, professional development, intervention alignment, and more.
BSC will help provide common vocabulary and knowledge around the process of reading so that all types of learners can be successful in learning to read, and reading to learn.
Consulting with Claire from Book Smart Consulting was one of the most impactful moves I have ever made as a superintendent. With her lived experiences as a teacher, literacy coach, director of curriculum, administrator, and parent, Claire seamlessly relates to all stakeholders. Claire was able to bring new ideas, suggest changes, and plan professional development in a way in which our teaching staff had exceptionally high buy-in.
Our district now has a literacy TOSA, a new phonics program, realigned intervention schedules, and effective professional development around literacy. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive from teachers, students, and parents and we are already seeing the benefits. I look forward to continuing to work with Claire.
